Matariki is a time to honour the past, for learning and for whānau and friends to come together. So we’re running a special Poihākena tour for Matariki this year, in Tallawalladah (The Rocks) on Gadigal Country. Usually Poihākena tours: stories of Māori in Sydney are just available for groups, private tours and schools, but our timed tour on Sunday July 12th at 10am can be booked by anyone!
About the tour: Award-winning Poihākena tours have been running since 2014. On this 2-hour guided walk, you’ll discover intriguing stories of Māori in Sydney since 1793. The tour also includes a visit to The Rocks Discovery Museum and an archeological dig site, a walk down Māori Lane and waiata (song).
