If you’re in Sydney during the April school holidays, Poihākena tours: stories of Māori in Sydney is running a special ‘school holiday tour’ for families on Friday 20th April 11am – 1pm. Come and join us!
Award winning “Poihākena tours: stories of Māori in Sydney” are based in The Rocks where Māori have lived, loved, traded, visited and worked for 225 years. With your Māori Guide and his whānau (family), on this 2-hour walking tour you’ll explore the historical precinct of The Rocks, see Māori greenstone taonga (treasured objects) found on a local archeological site – now exhibited at The Rocks Discovery Museum; visit the dig site; listen to waiata (song), walk down Māori Lane, hear fascinating stories of Māori in Sydney since 1793 and more…
Children under 5 are free.
